Rwanda was the first country in the world to have a female government and today it is women who drive the local economy. Coffee cooperatives were founded by women from the beginning and are still managed by them today. We are talking about the Twongere Kawa Coko cooperative founded by 11 women coffee farmers in 2009 and led by the president Therese Nyrangwabije.
